  • Refurbished beach-facing one bedroom air-conditioned apartment. Sleeps 4. Situated in a private complex with 3 pools and gardens. Right on the beach yet in the heart of Marbella, with shops, restaurants, cafes and bars at your fingertips. It is on the second floor of the building. There are three lifts serving this floor.


General description

This stylish apartment directly overlooks the seafront walk/paseo. It has been decorated to a high standard and features marble floors throughout. The bathroom walls are also tiled in marble. The bedroom is roomy and a door leads onto the main balcony. There is a galley kitchen off the entrance hall. The sitting-room has doors giving on to both balconies and, owing to the apartment’s corner location, features views through the palm trees to the marina on one side and towards Puerto Banus and Gibraltar on the other side. On clear evenings the coast of Morocco is clearly visible from the balcony.

The apartment is on the second floor of the complex and gives you the feeling that you are more or less on the beach. In the summer the flat remains relatively cool as it is protected by palm trees which shield it from the sun. If necessary, awnings can be lowered to provide extra shade and there is air-conditioning throughout. Central heating is also available for winter visitors if required.

The main balcony offers unsurpassable views of the sea and the seafront walk so it is often a temptation to sit in a comfortable chair and watch the world go by. Just along the promenade there are bars, fish restaurants and sidewalk cafés for your morning coffee or evening aperitif.

  FROM MALAGA AIRPORT There is a frequent direct bus service (see between the airport and Marbella bus station. Taxis between the bus station and the apartment building are around 8 euros. Edificio Skol is well-known locally. There is a taxi rank adjacent to the Skol Building.

BY ROAD take the coast road south from Malaga (not the motorway toll road), take the turn off Marbella Centro and you will arrive at the Marbella Arch. Follow the road for about 2 kilometres and it will take you into Marbella centre. After four traffic lights you will come to the first turn-off left (Avenida Maldonado). You will see a branch of 'Deutsche Bank' on the corner. Turn left and Edificio Skol is at the end of the street, by the beach, just after the underground public car park. There is free parking on the street but it can be difficult to get a place in the immediate vicinity. If you turn right in front of 'Skol' and carry on you will find another car park and places to park on the street. Keys   The Skol building reception desk is open 24/7, just say 234 (dos, tres, cuatro por favor), and you will be given an envelope which is in our pigeonhole with your name on it (you might be asked to produce ID). You will find the key to our apartment 234 block C (the upper lock) in the envelope and also a security key which opens the main reception door, the street entrance by the lifts and the gate giving on to the seafront walk.

Please note that the key to the apartment is for the higher lock.You also need to turn the doorknob to open the door. In order to lock the door, you need to turn the key 2 or 3 times. Once will not lock the door.

Please leave the envelope in the drawer of the TV table so that you can use it again to return the keys to our pigeon hole (234)on leaving. Please do make sure it goes in the 234 pigeonhole and not the pigeonhole underneath.

In the TV table drawer you will also find an extra set of keys for your use. The cleaning lady will inform us that you have returned both sets: one to reception and the other in the TV table drawer.

If you have a problem with the keys please phone Mari-Carmen (our cleaning lady)from the Reception area. She doesn’t speak English so the receptionist will have to explain the problem to her. She has spare sets of keys. She lives in Marbella. Her mobile number is 679 35 50 36

Arrival The rental period starts at  3 p.m. unless otherwise arranged.

Departure - Check-out is at 11 a.m. It is essential that you respect the check out time as the cleaner will be waiting to prepare the apartment for the next guests. Please ensure that the keys are at Reception by 11 a.m.

- Please close all doors and windows and make sure ALL APPLIANCES EXCEPT THE FRIDGE are switched off. -Please remember to switch off the heating/ air-co.

- Please take out any rubbish (bins on the street).

- There is a left-luggage facility at Reception (2 euros per bag).

Linen You will find sheets for the sofa bed, spare sheets and spare towels in boxes in the white cupboard in the bedroom and underneath the bed. Please remember to bring your own beach towels. We have beach mats. For your convenience we have beach towels for rent ( 5 euros per towel). You'll find them in a box under the bed. They are the large towels in rich chocolate brown in colour or striped. Please leave the money for the towels you have used on the dining table when you leave.

Gates Please note that for reasons of security only the main entrance by the Reception can be used at night.

Sunbeds Guests may hire sunbeds between the hours of 9.30 and 12 noon (cost 2.50 euros per bed).

The streets of Marbella are full of honeysuckle, mimosa, tamarind trees and many varieties of palm. Jasmine and bougainvillea drape garden walls and the sides of buildings. The promenade features tiled marble and cafes and restaurants every few hundred yards.

The centre of Marbella, where Edificio Skol is located, has all the amenities you need but is relaxed and quiet. Within a short stroll from the apartment are supermarkets, bars, shops and restaurants - you won't need a car unless you plan to play golf or explore the hinterland with its 'pueblos blancos'. Many budget car hire firms have offices near the apartment building.

Edificio Skol has become a Marbella landmark. Its central, seafront location and quirky sixties design emphasizes its origins as a pioneering emblem of the Costa del Sol. The extensive gardens, residents' café and 3 swimming-pools with sunbeds (cost approx. 2 euros per day) just off the beach make it the envy of most other buildings in the vicinity. The facade has recently been totally renovated and it has become a symbol of the carefree, year-round holiday atmosphere that pervades Marbella.

The Old Town offers walking, shopping and eating. It is typically Andalusian with its Moorish walls, old churches and town square ringed with orange trees. It has been well maintained and is within walking distance of the flat. There are lots of open-air restaurants in and around the town square.

Marbella's beaches and palm tree-lined promenade are just outside the garden gate as you can see from our photo "Marbella". The gate of the complex gives on to the seafront walk. The promenade now extends all the way to Puerto Banus (approx. 5 kilometers) and is a very pleasant walk. You can catch a boat back to the harbour adjacent to the apartment building (cost around 5 euros).

The beaches in front of Skol feature freshwater showers, sunbeds and a little farther along, beachside barbecue bars that serve fresh grilled fish and seafood at attractive prices.
